The Defiance County Health Department's Environmental Health Division is responsible for conducting inspections, issuing permits and licenses.  Facilities that are regulated by the division include food service operations, retail food establishments, mobile home parks, campgrounds, recreational camps, schools, public swimming pools, public spas, and tattoo/body piercing establishments. Investigation and follow-up of public health nuisances, including, general unsanitary conditions, garbage, spare tires, rats, mice and other types of vermin. The department is also responsible for investigating smoking violation complaints.
