The Women, Infants, and Children
(WIC) Program of Defiance County is a federally funded program that provides
nutrition education and supplemental food to low and moderate income pregnant or
breastfeeding women, infants, and children under five years of age who are at
nutritional risk.
W.I.C. provides:
Formula, juice, cereal, milk, peanut
butter, cheese, beans, and eggs. Nutrition Education/Health Assessment and
referrals to other health and
community services are offered.
Eligibility is also determined by medical or nutritional risk. Income
guidelines must be met. Applicants must also be a resident of Defiance County.
Individuals who receive a Healthy Start Medical Card are
automatically income eligible. If pregnant, each fetus also counts as a family
member.

| The Ohio WIC Program provides an opportunity
for WIC participants to complete their nutrition education appointment on
the Internet. A variety of information is available from which to choose,
including breastfeeding, infant and child nutrition, meals and snacks for
children. It's convenient since you can do it anytime. Just follow the
