Sixty Plus
- The Sixty Plus Health Screening Program
is offered to residents 60 years and
older in conjunction with a grant from
the Area Office on Aging. Screenings include blood pressure, blood
sugar, hemoglobin, and total cholesterol.
1st and 3rd Thursday of month - Northtowne Mall

Hearing
Clinic - A free hearing clinic staffed by
audiologists, speech language pathologists and an Ear, Nose and Throat
physician. Children through age 20, with suspected ear pathology, hearing
problems, speech/language delay and children who failed a hearing screening
are seen at the clinic. If further services are needed following their
appointment they are referred for follow up. Children from any county are
welcome. Call the Health Department at
419-784-3818 to schedule an appointment.
Genetic Outreach Clinic
- Offered quarterly to increase the availability of local genetic services.
A clinical geneticist medical doctor and a genetic counselor staff each
clinic providing services that include diagnosis of genetic conditions,
genetic counseling, consultation and professional and public education. For
more information, call the Health Department.
TB (Mantoux) Tests -
$5.00 -
Monday & Friday - 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.,
Tuesday 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tests are not administered on
Wednesday or Thursday.
Blood Pressure
Screenings - Free to residents of Defiance
County, available during
nursing hours
Hearing Tests
- $5.00 - Available during
nursing hours

School Health
Services - Weekly visits to schools, or as
needed by health nurses. Vision and scoliosis screening as required for
students.
CPR Classes
- American Heart Association CPR
classes are offered. Call the Health Department for date of classes
and fees.

Lion's Club
- Financial assistance for eye
examination and glasses. Applications are completed with the assistance of
health department nurses.
DASH (Defiance Area
Society for the Handicapped)
- Medicine, medical equipment,
etc., are available. Applications are completed with the assistance of
health department nurses.
